Job DescriptionLinkedIn News is looking for a News Editor to expand our finance coverage. The editor will create news items, features and a newsletter for finance professionals in the UK and send notifications to increase engagement. There will also be opportunities to explore additional content formats such as video, LinkedIn Live, audio events and podcasts.

You'll get to work with a dynamic team of journalists who reach the largest group of professionals ever assembled. We're looking for someone who's a self-starter and wants to use their journalism skills in new and innovative ways. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, creative, comfortable working with a variety of media formats, and able to adapt to a role where responsibilities are constantly evolving.

While this position is based in London, you'll be joining an international team of journalists who help create, cultivate and curate the content that flows through LinkedIn. You'll work closely with global editors across time zones and cultures, ultimately helping members around the world stay informed and pinpoint new opportunities to grow their careers.

Responsibilities:
  • Write posts, build storylines and write a weekly newsletter for finance professionals
  • Write finance-related storylines for a broad (non sector-specific) LinkedIn audience
  • Send notifications to amplify coverage
  • Contribute to global projects such as our Top Companies and Top Startups lists as well as our data-driven special reports
  • Produce original articles and videos as needed
  • Develop innovative and creative ways to serve our members with the content they need to land the right job and develop their careers
  • Work with the Creator Management team to support contributors on the platform
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in writing and editing
  • Experience working in a news or media environment covering the finance industry
  • Experience in short- and long-form writing (news and features)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to spot emerging trends and growth tactics, and devise plans for sharing and telling stories in new ways
  • Experience with original and curated news
  • Experience with podcasts and video production
  • A strategic approach with a knack for testing and iterating to find out what works
  • Willingness to pitch in where needed to achieve the goals of a small team
  • Passion for the LinkedIn Editorial team's goal of bringing professionals the news and insights they need
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Deadline driven
