Contract Senior Embedded Software Engineer

£60-70 per hour inside IR35

6 Month Contract

We are currently looking to recruit highly experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineers on behalf of a market leading Defence company. There are flexible working options available. The successful Senior Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and testing of new embedded software.

THE ROLE:

The successful Embedded Software Engineer will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of C/C++ /Assembler embedded environment.

You will also have an understanding of the full product life cycle.

Anyone with experience in VHF / UHF transceivers, electronic warfare or software defined radio (Airborne) will benefit greatly.

KEY DUTIES/EXPERIENCE:

Proficient in the whole engineering life cycle

Experience developing C++ software in a real-time embedded systems with strong capabilities in different software development methodologies, tools and compilers.

Experience using free RTOS and Embedded Linux

Expert in design, coding, debugging, reviewing and testing embedded software

THE PERSON / DESIRABLE:

The ideal Embedded Software Engineer will have the following skills and experience:

Graduate in a software engineering related / computer science relevant degree

Excellent decision making skills with an ability to solve complex problems

Analytical skills with an ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral

Able to work to tight deadlines

Knowledge of Xilinx FPGA SoC hardware and software interfaces
