Solutions Lead

Experis are currently hiring a Solutions Lead for one of our large clients. The client has determined that its core Programme and Project Management toolset needs to evolve from an existing implementation of Project Online (PoL) which no longer meets the needs of the business. A project to define and implement a new Standard Enterprise Programme and Project Management (EPM) Toolset has been initiated. The business outcome will be a new set of project processes and workflows underpinned by robust tooling.

The Solution Lead role will assist our client in defining a large-scale change initiative across the business. The role will contribute to product selection and own architectural inputs to deliver a new Standard Enterprise Programme and Project Management Toolset across UK, Europe and ASPAC regions. The role will also support in helping drive people process and organisational change through the adoption of new ways of working utilising the toolset defined by the project.

This role is mainly home-based, with occasional visits to various sites around the UK.

Key accountabilities

Knowledge of typical government outsourcing processes and practical experience of their business requirements.
Knowledge of current and emerging IT technologies and platforms and delivery methods/topologies (e.g., on prem vs. cloud platforms, SaaS, hybrid)
A keen problem solver and analytical thinker with the ability to work through issues logically
Knowledge of typical outsourced bidding processes as well as project delivery processes.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end solution architecture & service design and delivery, including risk assessment, with support from the Technology Sector Lead, Senior Technical Delivery Manager, Lead Business Analyst and other project team members.
Comfortable to advise and guide Executive/Senior Management by explaining technical issues and IT solution strategies in support of the possible solution(s).Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications

Generalist Solution Architecture (ideally with an applications bias) and Service Integration
Comfortable interpreting and translating requirements and writing design documentation for solutions, architectures and services.
Comfortable performing discovery activities and documenting existing already delivered architectures
Comfortable reaching out to various parts of the organisation to develop an understanding and gain knowledge of the company's landscape.
Experience as a Design Authority following solution governance processes in large programmes of work. (e.g., HLD's and review cycles, governance boards etc.)
Practical knowledge of project/programme management methodologies, tools and techniques (e.g., Waterfall and Agile)Desirable technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications

Experience of JIRA, Azure DevOps
