Role: Production Manager
Location: Alfreton
Hours: 8am to 5pm (2pm on Friday)
Salary: Fantastic offer
Car allowance: £640 per month
Pension: 7.5% employer contribution
Bonus: 15% of Salary
Life Assurance: 5x Salary
Holidays: 23 plus 1 day for Birthday + Statutory
Site: 60 plus employees
Team to lead: 1 Production planner, 1 Assistant Production planner, 1 production supervisor, 12 Operators + 5 temporary workers.
This position is responsible for the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes and finished products in accordance with the standard operating procedures and the relevant safety laws.
The position serves as a liaison between management, operations, maintenance and support groups.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Lead, handle and coordinate all acid formulation and bottle filling activities. Ensure that agreed production targets and schedules are met in areas of control.
Improve production uptime by accurate use of the standard procedures. Ensure that products are produced on time and are of good quality Ensure accurate housekeeping and safety fields are maintained.
Maintain the drive for continuous improvement by exceeding KPIs.
With specialist advice implement and maintain health, safety and environmental systems within the department including MAPP (Major Accident Prevention Policy).
Participate in the development and training of all departmental staff.
Conduct the company Performance Review programme.
Maintain/develop internal customer/supplier relationships.
Qualifications
A foundation degree, HND or degree or equivalent in the following subjects is preferred:
Business or Management
Chemistry / Chemical engineering
Manufacturing engineering / Process engineering
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in Production.
Experience with Chemical processing system is preferred
Knowledge of mechanical processing systems a plus
Knowledge of mechanical equipment, including pumps, piping, manifolds and valve a plus

Problem solving skills
The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with your team, managers and other internal clients
