Agile Project Manager
Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide Agile project management skills, capabilities, discipline, and cross coordination in the delivery of a cloud data platform across a team of platform engineers.
This role shall facilitate efficient project progression whilst maintaining quality objectives and required outcomes.

• Provide agile facilitation of cross-functional teams in the development, delivery, and decision-making practices for the engineering of the data platform.
• Ensure collaborative, efficient coordination & integration across the projects teams in delivery to required quality and performance.
• Ensure smooth planning, logical prioritization, and reporting processes, leveraging Jira to manage backlogs and agile sprints.
• Monitor overall project progress to platform roadmap.
• Apply agile project methodologies and best practice to facilitate interdepartmental planning and communication via confluence.

Scope of Responsibility

• Agile project management of engineering teams toward delivery of Data platform capabilities
• Ensuring collaborative, efficient coordination, dependency management & integration across the project team in delivery to required quality and performance.
• Ensuring compliance to the required quality frameworks for delivery of solutions & the associated documentation.
• Apply, Agile Project methodologies and best practice to assigned projects or products maintaining control of scope and delivery to target.

Impact of role

• Maintaining focus on project target objectives. The efficient use of resource through planned breakdown and execution of Projects whilst remaining agile and adaptive. Maintaining; a clear plan to delivery, proactive risk & resource management along with provision of budget management and stakeholder / team project reporting as required.
• Ensure the project is set-up for success

Key Responsibilities

• To drive agile delivery of engineering project to roadmap or execution plan
• Ensure collaboration across product leadership, data and Tech professionals in prioritisation and grooming of backlogs, sprint planning and roadmap aligned delivery milestones for reporting & tracking progress.
• Maintain best practice in sprint planning and team velocity to drive progress
• Proactive decision tracking and risk management.
• Effective communication and reporting across teams and stakeholders
• Monitor and maintain performance across project team members including any 3 rd parties
• Negotiate solutions and address emergent issues

Key capabilities

• Able to Facilitate and Drive Agile Product Delivery including ceremonies, practices, sprint planning, backlog management via Jira.
• Ability to establish & maintain Jira based type Kanban and or Sprint based Scrum boards
• Understanding of data/IT related projects terms, milestones and content
• Understanding of resource demand management aligned to project plan

PM Role

• Working knowledge of pro-active Project Risk Management
• Problem and Issue management and resolution
• Learning ability to build understanding in processes and approach

• Able to effectively interact with a broad range of people
• Manage and coordinate team towards delivery

Basic Education

• Bachelors degree in science, business, finance or relevant subject

Preferred Education / Professional Qualifications

• Project Management Accredited or Related Professional Membership (PMI, APM or related accreditation) Agile Accreditations

Basic Experience

• Prior experience of project management (typically 3+ years IT Technical project management experience)

Preferred Experience

• Ideally experience in Data related projects, IT or Cloud based Technology Sectors orIndustry / R&D operational experience (i.e. a member of project or technology platform team)
