Interim Senior Capital Accountant

Production of quarterly capital monitoring reports to Executive/Council.
Monthly capital monitoring and liaison with directorates for capital expenditure budget amendments and forecasts of available capital resources.
Completion of capital related notes and reviewing/updating accounting policies within the statement of accounts, including all assets and capital financing.
Posting year end capital accounting entries into the financial information system and reconciliation to the Fixed Asset Register.
Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register spreadsheet for all areas of capital accounting.
Maintenance of the capital grants register, ensuring correct classification of grants and supporting evidence.
Provision of capital accounting advice to accountancy staff
Review of expenditure coded to capital to ensure correct accounting treatment.
Confident in liaison with external audit in answering audit queries on the capital areas of the accounts.
Completion of statutory returns for capital to statutory deadlines.
