Ideal Recruit are currently working with a well established and reputable Aerospace company who have an exciting opportunity for a Blasting/General Operative.
Working Hours:
Dayt Shift is Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4.30pm Fridays: 8:00am - 12.15pm
Nightshift is Mon - Thur / 18:00 - 06:00 (45hours) - however the probationary period would be on the dayshift, as they would require training / passing off before transferring to nights.
Pay Rate: £9.81 and 20% for night shift

About the role
The Blasting / General operative will join our established manufacturing department.
Reporting to the department manager the successful candidate will carry out dry abrasive blasting of production parts in line with standard operating procedures (SOP). Part of the process will include the use of hoists and slings to manoeuvre the larger parts. You will also be involved in wrapping and packing of the parts and support with any general duties within the department as required.
You and the role
You will have some experience working within a manufacturing department or workshop environment and ideally have manual handling experience using hoists and slings to manoeuvre large and heavy items. Experience with blasting is beneficial, however, full training will be provided to you if you have the right desire to learn and develop your skills.

Primary responsibilities
Dry abrasive blasting of production parts in line with SOP and data cards
Working to work-to lists set by Production Control and highlighting issues and bottlenecks as they arise
Monitoring consumables and requesting additional stock as required
Wrapping and packing
Ad-hoc tasks, as required such as: Dressing/deburring of parts; Solvent cleaning of parts; Alkaline de-rusting of parts
Attend and contribute to SQCDP/production meetings
Identifying continuous improvement opportunities
Health and Safety adherence
Adherence and contribution to 5S activity (including cleaning and tidying)
Qualifications
No qualification is required, training will be provided to successful candidate
Experience
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
Previous experience in a manufacturing / workshop environment is preferred
Behavioural Skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work in a team and individually
Good communication skills both written and oral
