On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Stress Approver to join on an initial 3-month contract. As the Stress Approver you will perform static structural analysis activities within the Single Aisle Series engineering team.
Role: Stress Approver
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 Hours a week
Contract: 3-month contract
Location: Filton - Hybrid Working
IR35 Status: Inside
SC Clearance: Basic Clearance
Overview of Role
Perform static stress investigations and analysis using Single Aisle available data to support the Single Aisle Series team with day-to-day activities & deliverables. These will include:
PSS & MSJ Mod closure activities
Transfer of Work
Contribute to static inputs for maturity gates and reviews, e.g., PDR, CDR, etc.
Creating and approving Preliminary Stress Sheets in support of Design Reviews, Justification stress dossiers in support of Certification, creating detailed FEMS.
Pre sizing new or modified structure - advising Designers of stress needs
Compile and present static stress review activities for functional deliverables.
Static stress analysis in support of Transfer of Works and Major Modifications.
Producing static stress calculations without supervision and presenting those calculations in a concise and clear manner.
Operating within a multi-functional (Engineering, ME, procurement, Aero, Programme....) and actively contributing to team goals.
Generating engineering solutions which are optimised to assure enhanced business / customer value (trade between performance, weight, cost, manufacture....), whilst maintaining focus on deliverable quality and programme schedule.
Finding creative solutions to complex problems and low RF resolution.
You will have experience in Wing structures.
Communicate technical subjects effectively and accurately to both specialists and non-specialists.
Adherence to Airworthiness regulations, relevant design principles, processes, methods, and manufacturing capabilities guidelines.
Experience using the ISAMI suite of Stress Analysis Tools
Experience of FEA Linear analysis and be aware of opportunities available with using Non-Linear FEA
Education & Training
5 Year's or more experience in an Engineering structural analysis role.
Stress approval signatory in metallic and/or composite structures with an Aerospace company.
