Job Title: Senior Stroke Commissioning Manager

Location: Remote Working with occasional visits to Derby

Pay Rate: £24.10 - £27.22 per hour dependant on experience

Hours: Mon to Friday 8.30 to 4.30 or 9.00 to 5.00

Length of the contract: 6 months initially with the potential to extend

Grafton Recruitment are now seeking to appoint a Senior Stroke Commissioning Manager to our client based in Derby. The Senior Stroke Commissioning Manager will support the Head of SCCP and Assistant Director of SCCP in driving forward transformation as well as value for money in the strategic development and commissioning of Stroke services.

Duties of the Senior Stroke Commissioning Manager

Providing subject matters expertise and liaising with relevant teams.
Supporting the Head of Service in the implementation of strategy.
Playing a pivotal role in the identification, implementation and resourcing of projects.
Co-ordinating delivery of projects through relevant workstreams and commissioning managers.
Ensuring appropriate resourcing and support is available for the operation of the team.
Providing appropriate reports and updates as required for both operational and transformational meetings.
Developing and assisting in the delivery of financial and activity dashboards to support existing and new opportunities.
Leading the review of services where necessary and ensure that the services delivered are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the population.
Working across the Strategic Clinical Conditions and Pathways Team portfolio to align workloads of the team and ensure key projects are prioritised.
Work effectively with a variety of external consultancies working on other projects and programmes.
Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information, presenting information, to a wide range of stakeholders in a formal setting.
Link with managers and members of other functions, to address inter-dependencies and ensure alignment.
Apply a structured change management approach and methodology for the impact of any change.

Experience Required

Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement.
Must be able to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information, negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues and present complex and sensitive information to large and influential groups.
Negotiate on difficult and controversial issues including performance and change.
Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands.
Ability to analyse complex facts and situations and develop a range of options.
Take decisions on difficult and contentious issues where there may be a number of courses of action.
Strategic thinking - ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise.
Demonstrate capability to plan over short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.
Comprehensive experience of project principles techniques and tools such as Prince 2.
Must be able to prioritise own work effectively and be able to direct activities of others.
Experience of managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance of the individuals.
Must be able to use initiative to decide relevant actions and make recommendations with the aim of improving deliverables and compliance to policies.
Ability to make decisions autonomously, when required, on difficult issues, working to tight and often changing timescales.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate keyboard skills.
Need to have a thorough understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity and good working relationships both in terms of day-to-day working practices, but also in relation to management systems.
Previously responsible for a budget, involved in budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes.
Effective organiser, influencer and networker.
Ability to work as part of a team and work flexibly to provide support to other departments and teams as and when necessary.
