Purpose of Post
To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the Setting;
To give support to other personnel within the Setting;
To work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, develop and learn.
To implement the daily routine in the base room, e.g. the room in which the staff member's main duties are carried out.
To build and maintain strong partnership working with parents to enable children's needs to be met.

Hours of Work
30 hours per week on a rota basis between the hours of 7.30am-6.30pm.
Requirements
You must have at least a Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent qualification
Duties and Responsibilities
To effectively deliver the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interest of children in the setting are met (in conjunction with other team members)
To keep records of your key children's development and learning journeys and share with parents, carers and other key adults in the child's life.
Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-date caring and early learning needs.
To ensure the provision of high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures and medical histories.
To advise manager/deputy of any concerns., e.g over children, parents, the safety of the environment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
To attend ALL out of working hours activities, e.g. training, staff meetings, parents/carers evenings fundraising events, Christmas party, etc;
To be flexible within working practices of the Setting, including covering in other rooms if required. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the Setting, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment etc.;
Work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the project is fulfilled;
To develop your role within the team, especially with regard to being a key person
Record accidents in the accident book.
Look upon the Setting as a "whole" where can your help be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of children;
Ensure each child is collected by someone known to Setting;
To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is acquired as part of the job..
To support nursery assistants, students and volunteers.
Specific Child Care Tasks:
The preparation and completion of activities to suit the child's stage of development;
To ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing;
Washing and changing children as required;
Providing comfort and warmth to an ill child;
To ensure the setting of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development;
To be aware of the high profile of the Setting and to uphold its standards at all times bth in work hours and outside.
