Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Birmingham
Basic salary: £23,000-£25,000 Depending on experience
Type: Permanent
A large and prestigious Birmingham law firm is recruiting an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. The main responsibility of the role is to assist in the smooth running of the practice by attending to the various financial transactions arising from the work of the Firm and its internal operation. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to grow and build their career to join a forward thinking and fast paced firm.
Responsibilities:
The role is mainly split between assisting the Credit Control function and supporting the Management Accountant
Manage supplier reconciliations and liaise with suppliers when required
Processing purchase ledger invoices and managing the purchase ledger email inbox
Managing the internal credit card postings and reconciliations
Allocation and posting of the daily cash received
Responsible for the weekly transfer report
Managing the automated credit control process
Chasing internal fee earners and clients for invoice payments
Taking credit card payments over the telephone
Processing of write offs
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience of working in an accounts department is essential - 2 years (Please don't apply without this)
Be someone who is open to learning new areas and growing their career within finance
Good MS Excel skills is essential as is excellent communication skills
