Location: Leeds
Hourly Rate : £16.03 - 37 Hours a week
Early shift 06:00 to 14:00 Monday to Thursday 06.00 to 12.00 Friday
25 Days holiday + 8 statutory days

Purpose of the job:
To manage all engineers within their department, ensuring adequate equipment is available and any training required is requested. Deal with day-to-day issues that any of their direct reports may have. Attending Team leader meetings on a Monthly basis. Operating and setting machines to produce high quality products
The company:
Our client manufacture gaskets and seals and supply these into all Engineering & Manufacturing sectors.
Job Overview:
- Manage all engineers within their department, ensuring adequate equipment is available and any training required is requested
- Operating and setting of machine tools
- Continuous support to the production department helping to improve efficiency and working towards lean manufacture within their cell.
- Report defects to their Line Manager and support the quality department when investigating root causes.
- Reporting any faulty equipment to Team Leader / Line Manager.
- Maintain equipment
- Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of all areas within the section they are working in and walkway around it
- Retrain where needed to develop the business.
- Cooperate with the organisation, undertaking any other given role within their capabilities.
Key Skills:
- Ability to manage and deal with issues within their department
- Ability to build good working relationships with others within their department
- Good relationship with Assistant Production Managers
- Ability to speak to employees across the whole of the organisation at different levels of seniority.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Qualified with a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
- Practically Minded
- Ability to read Engineering Drawings
- Ability to understand customer requirements
- Ability to communicate with all levels
