Nursery Practitioner | Whitley Bay | Part Time| £9.50 per hour
Our clients is a small nursery with a maximum occupancy of 26. They have a Treehouse room upstairs for up to 10 children up to age 2.5 years and an Explorers room downstairs for up to 16 children aged 2.5 to 5 years.
They are looking for an experienced Level 3 qualified practitioner to work in their Explorer room 30-35 hours over 5 days a week Monday to Friday.
They are open between 7:30am and 18:00pm and shifts would be set between these hours.
The position would cover 43 weeks of the year with 9 set weeks holiday in the school holidays, we are closed for 5 of these weeks during the school holidays.
Role Requirements
* Work using initiative & in collaboration with the Manager and wider staff team.
* Support the aims & objectives of the nursery to create a unique experience for children, birth to 5 years; working directly with children and their families.
* Provide high standards of childcare and education; using the "in the moment" planning approach.
* Maintain an awareness of the statutory requirements of the EYFS to ensure a safe working environment for staff and children.
* Actively take part in relevant training/meetings to support own professional development.
Role Responsibilities
* To create a stimulating and enabling environment for the children.
* To complete paperwork to high standards along with observations, best fits, and yearly aged checks, ensuring that they are always up to date.
* To be aware of child tracking and know which of your key children need additional support.
* To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.
* To provide support to all families within the Nursery.
* To have strong communication with parents, children, staff, and other professionals.
* To participate in OFSTED inspections and partake in any activity or task they require.
* To always respect confidentiality and be sensitive to any situation.
* To ensure that safeguarding concerns are correctly and promptly reported to the management team and any other services if appropriate.
* To positively contribute to a secure nursery environment for children, parents, staff, and visitors.
