NeuroSupport services is looking for psychology graduates or candidates with a background of Brain Injury and Mental health experience to support services users with an acquired Brain Injury. Our service aims to support rehabilitation and in enabling people to optimise independence and quality of life. We are looking for a Therapy assistant who would be willing to support people both within their home environment and also willing to provide support in helping service users access the community.
Please briefly describe the client's difficulties:SR had significant injuries to his leg which impacts on his ability to walk long distances. He has limited insight into his difficulties and doesn't always see that he benefits from support. He is currently using drugs and alcohol (not during the day) and this increases his level of fatigue and ability to engage. We are looking to move him into independent living and he will require support to develop a routine.
What are the activities required? Someone proactive to supportCleint to develop a routine of meaningful activity alongside the MDT. If the support worker had an interest in sports that would be good but it is key that the support worker is able to motivate client to engage in planned activities.
Hour available: 30 hours - Flexible timings
Fexible on hours and days. Our preference is for support to be in place 5 days a week for 4 hours in the morning, a break for cleint to eat and rest and then a further 2hr block to prepare for evening routine.

Successful candidates will be willing to help people adapt to their limitations, but also strive to reach their goals. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to implement behavioural, psychological, and cognitive strategies, as well as support with daily living activities. Therapy Assistants should be confident with working independently and providing empirical feedback where necessary.
Successful candidates must be:
* Excellent Communication skills
* Experience in the field of Psychology
* Willing to become self-employed
