Our client, based in the Feltham area, are looking for a experienced Development Electrical / Electronic Engineer to support their business as a world leader in fine mesh technologies. The company has been in operation for over 85 years.

The Role:
The Development Electrical / Electronic Engineer isto design and develop new and modified equipment to extend the Company's product range and to meet changing and new requirements of customers, and to pre-empt/react to competitors' actions.

Responsibilities:
• Main projects have a written specification drawn up by the Business Development Manager. This shows the complete requirement for the equipment, including target works cost and anticipated sales volume. The specification is also approved by the Director responsible for Sales and is accepted by the Director responsible for Engineering who, with input from the Development Engineer concerned, adds project costs and timescale.
• The jobholder must be able to make a technical judgement on the suitability of an item for the specification and performance. From the project specification he must be able to design prepare drawings; supervise the manufacture and testing of prototypes, pre-production and production batches of our electro-mechanical process equipment.
• Following an outline design, working drawings must be produced which will enable the Factory, Engineering Technician or sub-contractors to manufacture the new or modified parts. When these are available, they must be assembled and tested, initially without product and later with product.
• The Purchasing Department will usually obtain quotes for new or modified parts required for a project, but the Development Engineer must work with the buyer, and when a radically new or critical component is being sourced, Development should take the lead role in locating and negotiating specifications with potential suppliers. It will also be necessary to work with external service organisations such as testing stations and laboratories.
• Liaison with all Company Departments involved including Purchasing, Stock Control, Production Control, Costing, Drawing Office, Manufacturing and Sales is required and also customers. An appreciation of the Company's commercial attitude towards its suppliers and customers is important.
Testing of prototypes and pre-production equipment is required in the Test Department and at customers' sites.
• Report writing on all aspects of design and performance to satisfactorily record equipment behaviour is essential.
• Assistance to Sales, Customers, Production and Quality Control in respect of the application and testing of existing equipment will be required on an 'ad hoc' basis. This may require visits to site. "Ownership" of the project extends well beyond the first production batch.
• The nature of the task requires a flexible working approach, as practical engineering work for assembly and test of new equipment has to be undertaken.
• Any other related technical work which the company requires or as determined by the Electrical Department Manager/ Development Manager.
• It is a mandatory condition of employment that all personnel comply with the agreed procedures under ISO 9000 in maintaining the highest levels of quality at all times, to ensure Customer satisfaction.

Skills:
• 2 years of relatable experience preferred in a similar role.
• Keen eye for detail.
• Experience of working with engineering drawings.
• Must have good work ethic and be punctual.

Offer:
• an attractive salary ranging from £26,000 to £30,000 depending on experience
• an annual Company bonus and monthly attendance bonuses
• 37.25 hours per week must work those hours between 08:00 - 18:00
