Quality Engineer

Kendal, Cumbria

£40,000 to £45,000 DOE + 25 Days Holiday + Accommodation can be provided + Bank Holidays + Company Pension + Infrequent International Travel + External Training Opportunities

Contract 6 Month - 1 Year (To be agreed). Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.30pm.

Quality Engineer required for a friendly family owned manufacturer of perishable goods. Offering a varied role, within a business that are the only UK based manufacturer in their market. The company are investing into their business and are looking to continue improving their standards and procedures.

The Successful Quality Engineer will have previous experience of working in an FMCG manufacturing environment or similar. Those who have worked with perishable goods will be at a significant advantage. You will have a track record with Quality Control and implementing new procedures and promoting change within the production team, as well as other areas of the business. You will have previous experience of working to ISO 9001 standards and will be a certified auditor. You will have excellent IT skills, being well versed with Microsoft packages. Those who have experience of using SAP will be at an advantage, although having experience with ERP systems will suffice. You will be well versed in problem solving, conducting investigations and applying corrective action.

The Quality Engineer Role:

Split between hands on Quality Engineering and administrative duties e.g. writing SOPs, updating QMS, auditing etc.
Working closely with factory floor staff, build rapport and strong working relationships to promote change.
Working closely with Sales, Production, Packaging and General Management.
Dealing with mostly internal quality matters, but occasional dealing with escalated customer complaints and investigating these.
Occasionally dealing with suppliers and visiting facilities.
Analysing production performance and offering suggestions towards CI.
The Successful Quality Engineer:
