As our IT Delivery Engineer, you'll be responsible for championing and overseeing the adherence to the IT delivery standards at a technical level. You will work closely with the quality tools in use at Vitality, ensuring that comprehensive reporting is produced and improved upon at agreed intervals.
Your accountabilities as our IT Delivery Engineer will include:
Supporting consistency of approach within QA, Platform and Development teams
Supporting the delivery teams in improving their processes and adherence to standards
Engaging with developers, test engineers and platform engineers at a technical level to challenge evidence and the adherence to the standards in place
Championing the importance of meeting quality standards and actively pursuing opportunities to automate
Reviewing code quality metrics outputs to ensure achievement of the agreed standards
Proactively collaborating with 3rd party providers of existing tools to understand and advise on the suitability of their enhancements
Using MI/BI tools to maintain and create reports for senior management
Collaborating with others with a "can do" attitude to review specifications and using these agreed specifications to ensure efficient delivery using the right standards and tools
Raising risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies in a timely manner, offering mitigating actions and taking ownership of individual items where appropriate
Always pushing for excellence driving continuous improvement and efficiencies where possible
Identifying and implementing opportunities to optimise?current processes, leading and developing a team of experts to deliver service improvements
What we're looking for in our IT Delivery Engineer:
Excellent skills in test automation including creating and maintaining test frameworks and building automated tests
Degree level or equivalent, possibly professional qualifications and 5 years + work experience
Excellence in test analysis, preparation, and execution throughout the test cycle (manual and automated testing)
Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills
Skilled user of Tricentis suite of tools including automation options
Experience of testing web-based applications
Experienced in writing automated API tests
ISEB / ISTQB Foundation certificate or above, in Software Testing
Experience in tools: qTest, SQL Developer, Postman, Jenkins, BrowserStack, Visual Studio, Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
Experience with the automation package: SpecFlow, C#, Selenium, Nunit
Experience with programming practices: Gherkin, SOLID, Page object models, BDD, TDD, GIT Flow
The ability to continuously improve and shape the testing approach to suit the testing function
Experience of software development lifecycles and testing in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
