We are hiring for a multi billion pound organisation who are looking to expand their team due to a brand new site launch in the area.

Primary Purpose of the Role

A key member of the Engineering Team, the post holder will ensure the smooth operation and material flow of the warehouse in a safe and effective manner in addition to following the health and safety advice and guidance as instructed. Working in a specialist field, the System Control Manager will implement management instruction with regards to all aspects of the role and ensure that awareness of Health and Safety matters and risks assessments that are associated with the role are completed and updated accordingly. The post holder will follow working procedures and safe systems of work where appropriate

Key Accountabilities

Deliver a world class service by understanding the business needs and understanding how you and your team can impact on site performance through your own actions and decisions
Take ownership for the service you and your team provide
Support the implementation of warehouse projects
Agree with the Engineering Manager performance standards for the job role and prepare working procedures and Safe Systems of Work, where appropriate
Actively plan and manage your workload considering operational requirements and targets, consideration of operational events and demonstrate a good level of understanding of how dailyoperational targets can be impacted by your own decisions or actions

Demonstrate an excellent technical knowledge and understanding of the warehouse systems and use the knowledge to determine appropriate actions or solutions
Encourage productivity by ensuring your team is monitoring all systems and communicating promptly with the Maintenance Engineers via radio about any material flow problems or issues
Ensure clear communication with third party hotlines ensuring appropriate escalation of any system faults, equipment faults or malfunctions that cannot be corrected via normal System Control mechanisms or procedures for rapid response
Ensure full understanding of the objectives contained in the Next Safety Document
Assist in the completion and review of risk assessments for the department
Undertake accident investigations when necessary with assistance from H&S Advisors and implement appropriate preventative action
Adhere to all company policies and procedures in place ensuring standards are maintained at all times
Participation in team inspections and operational system checks, working in partnership with other departments to maintain business knowledge
Provide supervision for your team including dealing with holiday requests, ensuring adequate site cover and completing time management paperwork for Payroll
Be prepared to be on call if required (additional payment is made for this)
Ensure an appropriate training programme for any new starters in the department
Identify training requirements within the team and create supportive training documentation

The role is located in South Elmsall, flexibility to work shifts is desired, salary is £32-£36k per year
