But if we're to realise our ambition to become the leading digitally-enabled consumer credit provider in the UK, we need to make sure we're one step ahead of everyone else. The Product & Change Delivery team is approximately 90 people strong, at the forefront of the change and Product evolution that drives us forward and is looking for an innovative, stand-out change governance senior manager. Our team is akin to a Project Management Office / PMO and defines and maintains all processes and standards for change delivery and management across the organisation, ensuring that all team members and partners are brought along the journey.
Our Change Governance leaders are specialists; we expect you to grab empowerment and autonomy, you're trusted to use your expertise to find the right path to shine light on complex issues. But you should also have the urge to get better and better. Our work is purposeful and meaningful. To be successful here, you will need to be a skilled diplomat with low ego, passionate about continuous improvement and execution. You will be strategic, commercially astute and technically savvy, personable with outstanding presentation and communication skills.
We deliver value at pace and often. So experience with governance across Agile delivery techniques is important. However, our approach is to find the most practical flavour of Agile to fit, rather than apply methods straight out of a text book.
The role involves driving development and management of a best-practice change & project management framework for our Product centric delivery model, combining both agile and waterfall, and ensuring the company is protected by strong governance throughout its vast appetite for change delivery.
To succeed in this role, you will be an advocate for change and will proactively seek out ways to improve our delivery.
What will you be doing day-to-day?
As a key player in our Change team you will deliver on the following remit:
Change initiation, governance, and pipeline management processes
Change management processes and consistent application of best practices
Portfolio reporting and practical insights
Change policy and process/procedural documentation and governance
Quarterly planning across the company's change agenda
Continuous improvement e.g. refreshing processes, improving SLAs
Tooling and how it is best deployed across the business
Offer PMO type support for the most major programmes of work
Change budget management
You will support delivery leads in identifying and solving complex problems and finding the optimum way of achieving the outcome and running the initiative
You will embed risk management techniques at the heart of our company's delivery efforts
You will engage with a variety of partners; build strong working relationships up to senior level to ensure their continued consensus and engagement, and to drive timely decision making
You will ensure hygiene factors such as planning, estimating, governance, reporting, resourcing, budgeting, financial reconciliation and regular retrospectives are completed consistently and to the highest standards within programme delivery
Your Skills and Experience
Experience working in and leading Change Governance and PMO teams, ideally in companies taking on large scale change and delivery in markets in which digital products, services and capabilities are becoming dominant
Highly proficient in Jira and Confluence with experience of enhancing a company's capabilities with these tools
Management and evolution of portfolio management tools
Passionate about continuous improvement
Experience working with and supporting a team of hardworking, forward thinking cross functional specialists
Outstanding organisational skills with experience managing and working in time-pressured environments
Able to adapt frameworks to best suit the task at hand, share knowledge and understanding
Great facilitation, tact and negotiation skills, enabling you to have difficult conversations with partners and your colleagues
Passionate about business values, with the insight to articulate what success looks like, why it looks like that and how to measure it
Outstanding presentation skills and able to tailor your message to suit your audience's needs (who may or may not be technical)
