The Fibre Cabling Engineers will be responsible for:
• Test Roding and Roping of UG ducts and the identification of traffic management requirements.
• Interpreting and actioning Microsoft Word/Excel/PDF based Job Packs and BT Duct diagrams.
• The production of SLD's on successful completion of tasks along with the creation of accurate A55 documents using Planpoint application or similar.
• Working in confined spaces and outdoors in all weathers (All equipment and vehicles will be provided by the client necessary to carry out the role)
• Engineers must be UK based and located near London as the project will be based across the London area.
• Travel to and from various exchange locations as and when required.
• Work to PON completion deadlines to ensure operational requirements are met along with working in confined spaces.
• Completion of works to a high standard in line with Client expectations.
• Flexibility regarding working hours as some locations may be out of hours due to traffic restrictions.
• Occasionally working out of the area (accommodation will be provided in these instances)
• Attending accredited training courses when required.
• Adhering to the clients Health and Safety policies at all times.
About the Candidate:
We would welcome applications with the following skills and experience:
• Previous Test Rod and Rope Experience is essential
• Previous experience of working on the Openreach One Fibre Network.
• NRSWA Unit 2 Accreditation between one member of the team.
• BT Openreach accredited for at least 2 years, ideally with the following accreditations:
o SA002 Safety underground.
o S7 PIA sub-duct and cable installation.
o K8 Hand Rodding in the UG network.
• Full UK manual driving license held for a minimum of 12 months.
• Ability to work unsupervised in teams of two and have a strong customer focused attitude.
