About this role:
This is a purpose-built centre for students at secondary school on the autistic spectrum. It is co-located within a mainstream school based in Twickenham and students benefit from inclusion for part of their education. This enables students to access both a mainstream education with all its benefits whilst also having specialist support targeting their individual needs arising from their diagnosis of autism.
There are two teachers who take responsibility for overseeing the curriculum and progress for key stage three and key stage four. They also run interventions for students during sessions and oversee subjects which are taught outside of the mainstream school.
In addition, they teach specialist courses within the Centre for students on a more vocational pathway at key stage 4 which they plan and deliver, this includes CoPE.
