Bank of America Merrill Lynch has an opportunity for a Quantitative Finance Analyst within our Global Risk Analytics (GRA) function. GRA is a sub-line of business within Global Risk Management (GRM).GRA is responsible for developing a consistent and coherent set of models and analytical tools for effective risk and capital measurement, management and reporting across Bank of America.
GRA partners with the Lines of Business and Enterprise functions to ensure that its models and analytics address both internal and regulatory requirements, such as quarterly Enterprise Stress Testing (EST), the annual Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR), and the Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) accounting standard.GRA models follow an iterative and ongoing development life cycle, as the bank responds to the changing nature of portfolios, economic conditions and emerging risks.
In addition to model development, GRA conducts model implementation, data management, model execution and analysis, forecast administration, and model performance monitoring. GRA drives innovation, process improvement and automation across all of these activities. Responsibilities:
The role focuses on data and application integration with APIs from various systems across the Bank. It is a new position which aims at centralizing data initiatives and data integration requests within GMRA, in order to avoid duplication of effort over time and across teams.
The candidate is expected to interact with colleagues in GMRA, source systems owners across various LOB, and technology teams. The candidate is also expected to learn about internal standards, systems and processes, plan integration with technology, design and build integration solutions, communicate with stakeholders, and rigorously document requirements from upstream and downstream systems.
As a Quantitative Finance Analyst, your responsibilities will involve:
- Detailed design and development of a market risk system focused on model analysis
- Work alongside experienced quant/developers within global risk analytics
- Assist in high profile regulatory focused deliverables
- Opportunity to work on a large market risk system and gain cross asset pricing and modelling knowledge
Global Markets Risk Analytics (GMRA) is part of Global Risk Analytics (GRA). It responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring counterparty credit risk and market risk models. GMRA also develops analytical tools to support regulatory, audit, and internal risk management needs for Global Markets.
This role sits within Process Engineering (PE) team, which focuses on execution of strategic projects across GMRA by providing technological tools and solutions for process improvement and modelling efficiency. Core Skills:
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a quantitative emphasis in areas such as mathematics, engineering, or computer science
- Proven programming skills (Python, C++, SQL, or equivalent object-oriented programming)
- Experience in working with data from various sources
- Ability to work well within a team based development environment
- Can effectively use modern software development and lifecycle tools enabling excellent source control and code review
- Confident problem solving skills with the ability to tackle issues independently
- Ability to get to grips with a large and complicated systems
- Great communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise documentation
- A team player who can work in well with existing systems while still finding a way to impart a personal style
- Data integration experience is a plus
