Hays Legal are delighted to represent a leading global law firm. Currently recruiting for a Data Privacy Specialist to join their risk function, comprised of teams of market leading experts, at the heart of the sustainability and success of their firm.

Your new role
Our client is currently seeking an experienced individual to form part of the firm's global Data Privacy Team and support all aspects of the work of the firm's Chief Privacy Officer. Responsibilities will include:
  • You will assist in the maintenance of the existing global programme of measures designed to comply with privacy laws globally and help with the compliance of recent changes to European data protection law
  • You will be guiding colleagues across the firm on privacy issues and GDPR and supporting the work of the department more generally, including incident response and individual rights requests
  • Developing and delivering training and communication plans in order to embed change and creating content for and delivering presentations
  • You will help to gather and analyse data to support the Data Privacy Team and conduct data privacy impact assessments including in relation to software, systems and processes
  • Working closely and establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders globally to help support and roll out changes to the privacy compliance programme including technology and data innovations


What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful candidate, you will have experience in risk management and data protection regulation projects along with:
  • The ability to work independently, effectively managing your time and prioritising your workload
  • Experience advising a wide range or business stakeholders, determining their requirements and professionally and effectively resolving issues
  • Fantastic IT skills including knowledge of MS Office applications and other software such as eDiscovery
  • A keen eye for detail is necessary along with self-motivation and a collaborative approach to work well within a team and on cross-departmental projects
  • Experience in providing directive and pragmatic advice on data privacy, information security and data handling issues is desirable but not essential
