Financial Accountant

Our client is a leading, prestigious investment management company with a global presence. They are looking for a qualified Financial Accountant to join their team based in Edinburgh. This is a fixed term contract for 6 months, however there is a possibility of extension.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsibility for the production of financial accounts, regulatory returns and ad-hoc project work
• Completion of quaterly consolidated IFRS reporting ensuring that US GAAP to IFRS adjustments are appropriate and documented
• Provide added value commentary surrounding movements in the P&L and balance sheet
• Ensure that all statutory accounting deadlines are met; review of year end statutory accounts including liaison with auditors, tax and regulatory
• Be key point of contact for their legal entity
• Actively searching for process improvements within the role
• Build relationships with cross functional teams (e.g. revenue and expense accounting, corporate control, tax) to enhance working relationships and improve analytical review on legal entities

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

• Qualified CA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA with a strong academic record
• 2+ years post qualified experience; preferably in Financial Services
• Experience in statutory accounts production and/or audit preferred
• Strong awareness of global accounting standards, preferably US GAAP and IFRS
• Ability to clearly and confidently communicate in verbal and written form, with all levels of the business
• Self-starter, quick learner, team player, with an ability to adjust to change and the desire to take on responsibility is required
• Organised and methodical, possessing attention to detail , ability to work under pressure within very tight deadlines is essential

DAILY RATE: Up to £345.00 per day depending on experience
