Mechanical Design Engineer required for a large Engineering solutions company working across the pharmaceutical and medical devices sector employing over 900 employees across 35 countries. A globally recognised business based in West Yorkshire with huge UK growth plans afoot.

Working closely with the Technical Engineering Team, the successful Design Engineer will be responsible for generating bespoke 3D and 2D designs for capital equipment and new product development projects.

Duties of the Design Engineer would include:

Ensure mechanical design meets essential company and statutory design standards
Coordinate the development and delivery of the mechanical engineering design and documentation to meet the agreed project programme
Design Equipment in the most cost effective way while still maintaining quality
Ensure mechanical design costs achieve, or better, their gross profit budgetsCompetencies required of the successful Design engineer:

3D CAD Software Packages (Solidworks Preferred)
Designing for Manufacture utilising thin gauge sheet metal
Product development
Interpretation of user requirement specifications
Generating bills of materials
Good communicationThe Design Engineer will play a key role in the sustained growth of this company where you will be given a high level of autonomy and personal development.

This role would typically suit an experienced Design Engineer in the surrounding areas of Huddersfield such as Bradford, Wakefield and Leeds.
