General/Operations Manager (High Precision/Aerospace)
£75,000 + £90k OTE + 25 days holiday + pension

On offer is an opportunity to work for an Engineering business supplying into the exciting and fast-growing aerospace industry who use state-of-the-art machine equipment to supply the most demanding of OEM clients.
As the Head of Operations, you will be the key player in the management team and report into the Managing Director. Leading a team of dedicated engineers, you will take ownership of the entire process of operations and deliver production efficiencies and develop and manage your team to becomes the leading business in their field.
With strong commercial acumen you will have an holistic understanding the manufacturing process and how to deliver OTIF with zero defects and take your team with you to the next level of development. You will be a very strong man manager with the ability to take people on the process of change in a positive and productive way.
Responsible for the manufacturing processes across 2 sites with a team of 50
Responsible for OTIF to the customer and a key enabler of our quest for Zero Defects
Utilising and building upon the extensive suite of KPIs and management information currently in place
Management of material suppliers and subcontract process providers
Development of the management team and staff for succession planning and building a flexible workforce
Deliver company and departmental level measures (KPI's) to monitor the level of progress/improvement and drive changes as required e.g 100% OTIF and 100% right first-time performance aligning with the business and group targets.
Demonstrate clear leadership and passion to achieve operational excellence.
Identify any manufacturing variances to budget and implement corrective actions to ensure the budgeted level of profitability is achieved
Identify clear investment plans and timescales that support the strategic growth strategy for the sites and ensure these align with the customer/market demands
Ensure all documentation and processes are in place across the business
Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, procedures and legislation including health & safety, personnel, and regulatory frameworksQualifications, Skills and Experience
A positive hands-on approach and 'get it done' attitude
Aerospace experience preferred
Have good knowledge of Production machinery and technologies
Have prior experience in operational and people management
