More about your role

You will lead the development, implementation and monitoring of Places for People's external communications and engagement strategy. You'll protect and enhance the reputation of Places for People through the delivery of effective communication, engagement activities and taking a proactive approach to media relations.

You will identify our key communication pillars and create communication plans which you will deliver, lead on and manage to support People First, our values and culture aims and objectives. Furthermore you will manage the crisis and customer impact strategy. This includes developing effective media relations and crisis communications, to truly protect and enhance the reputation of the Group through the delivery of effective external communications

More about you

You will be an experienced communications professional that has previously led at manager level for a large and complex organisation. You will have a track record of being able to translate and effectively communicate key issues which underpin and drive business strategy whilst being about to engage a workforce.

You'll be able to demonstrate how you have used a range of communication approaches and strategies to successfully deliver communication campaigns and crisis manage.

Due to the nature of the role we would expect you to have strong presentation skills with the ability to explain and articulate concepts effectively and confidently to an audience of varied experience, both verbally and in written communications. You'll possess excellent people skills and enjoy engaging with stakeholders. Overall you'll be a skilled communicator with excellent writing skills - in particular the ability to assimilate and understand complex issues and turn them into clear and engaging copy.

Please note that this is an 'agile' role whereby you will be given the tools to effectively do your role from home; however there will still be some requirement to travel to our offices across the UK when required.

You will have great planning and project management skills with the ability to manage a diverse and varied workload.
