Senior Delivery Manager required to work with a Government department. This is an initial 6-month contract, paying £650 a day, inside IR35, hybrid working (1-2 days per week in one of the following offices: Bristol, London or Manchester).

Main Responsibilities:

Working with and motivating a multi-functional team, helping them plan and communicate blockers, progress and plans in order to maintain the smooth operation of the live service and meet our Service Level Agreements (SLA's).
Using agile/Lean methods to help the team work in a sustainable and continuously improving way
Working with Tech and Product Leads to prioritise work in a complex area of competing demands, form backlogs and roadmaps, and execute work in an iterative and incremental way with a focus on process improvement.
Providing coaching and mentoring to an Associate Delivery Manager and working closely with them on the above.
Providing support and advice to a part time Delivery Manager, ensuring continuity of tasks and activities when they are not present.

Essential Skills:

Creating great agile working environments
Experience of operating and improving models for managing multidisciplinary teams
Identifying the appropriate people and resources for teams
Owning delivery as a whole, spotting and reacting to discontinuity and threats
Making sure teams and programmes understand their mission, vision and goals, and that These align across the organisation
Communicating and visualising progress towards these goals
Managing and addressing risks, issues and dependencies
Engaging with key stakeholders on delivery progress and challenges
Continually improving delivery methods and approaches to team working
Encouraging the team to be self-organising
Coaching and mentoring agile delivery managers
Helping teams focus on defining and meeting agreed goals
Ensuring teams clearly communicate their plans through recognised agile practices
Identifying the people/skills/resources that teams need to deliver to the agreed goals
Identifying and communicating risks, issues, dependencies and blockers
Working across organisations and cross-directorates
