Companies in every industry benefit from having contractors on site and the Food and FMCG industries are no different, especially in maintenance engineering.
Whether it is covering for absences or working on a specific project, contract engineers play a crucial part in keeping businesses functioning and help to maintain output.
These opportunities are an initial 3 month contract in an Engineering Team Leader position in the food manufacturing industry. The company are recruiting for Engineering Team Leaders on both a permanent days and permanent nights basis.
The roles are varied but include day-to-day management of the shift, maintenance scheduling and plannig, efficiency analysis and people management. There can also be a hands-on element to the role should that be something you enjoy.
In essence, the main responsibility of the Engineering Team Leader on shift is to ensure machine down-time is minimised and the shift runs as it should do. You will need to have an energetic approach to engineering and maintenance with an eye for detail and a passion for minimising down time.
To be a good fit for this job there are a few things you'll need. Firstly, you'll need to have good experience in a manufacturing environment (e.g. food, FMCG) in a management, team leader, supervisory or multi skilled position. You should be used to working in a fast paced environment and have a proactive mindset. If you are a time-serviced apprentice (or equivalent) with any further supporting qualifications then this is also highly advantageous.
However, if you do not meet all of the listed criteria but are looking to expand your skillset then do not rule yourself out.
