Assistant Merchandisers - Home/Interiors and Clothing
The merchandising team provides the cornerstone of all our orders and works seamlessly with the factories, off-shore offices and customers to ensure each element of the order is fulfilled and signed-off. The Assistant Merchandiser is responsible for supporting the end to end lifecycle of products, working with the merchandise team and suppliers to achieve critical path deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for ordering products; creating purchase orders, placing details on SAP as per Customer Order and sharing with the Supplier & Customer.
Review the Customer Supplier Manual, and communicate to the factories to ensure the company can meet the relevant criteria & cost efficiently. Provide samples as required for customer approval, and confirm delivery & stock availability dates to Customers.
Responsible for keeping both SAP and external customer websites up to date.
Drive internal Critical Paths, ensuring this is kept up to date by all internal teams, and send to the factories and off-shore offices.
Responsible for managing the customer critical path, keeping them up to date and submitting them on time to the customer.
Maintain profitable, professional and positive relationships with customers.
To develop action plans with the Merchandiser to ensure production, supply and stock issues are resolved promptly
Send all lab dips, strike-offs, trims & packaging for customer approval and liaise with factories to chase up outstanding samples
Support the completion and the continued update of the Workbooks.
Support the Merchandise team to achieve the required standard for samples in terms of product quality, packaging & coding details to ensure that all required sample standards are achieved as per the critical path timeframes.
Support the Merchandise team to ensure orders fulfil the required standards set on the purchase order and the workbook, whilst maintaining successful and positive relationships with suppliers.
Attend development, handover and critical path meetings for your accounts with the Garment Tech and Designer, highlighting any potential issues.
Responsible for all aspects of administration, including providing administration assistance to the Senior Merchandiser, Merchandise Manager and Head of Merchandising and maintaining a comprehensive library of appropriate data.
Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
Strong communication and networking skills
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Ability to use initiative, respond quickly to change and cope well under pressure
Able to prioritise own workload
Experience in a similar role, or a strong administration background is required with proven Excel skills, a methodical approach and good attention to detail. Knowledge & experience of Critical Path and related tools is desirable.
