If you have a passion for looking after incredible places with heaps of history, love working collaboratively and finding creative solutions, we have an amazing opportunity to become the Facilities Manager across the South Nottinghamshire and North Lincolnshire Portfolio.
What it's like to work here
We have a diverse portfolio of properties which include, Gunby Estate, Hall and Gardens built in 1700 a Lincolnshire country house including Monksthorpe Baptism Chapel. Tattershall Castle a 15th century red brick-built castle, that is classed as a Schedule Monument. The best-preserved Workhouse and Infirmary at Southwell. And finally, a piece of coastal land and visitor infrastructure, that once completed will bring people closer nature and be accessible to all.

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll be leading for great compliance across the portfolio, managing a team of three facilities and business services staff who you can delegate to and work closely with; plus a growing cohort of volunteers.

Conservation, climate action, wellbeing and welcoming everyone are at the heart of what we do. The leadership and broader estate teams here are ambitious, creative, and collaborative. You'll also have access to knowledge and guidance from regional and national specialists, meaning you'll be joining a group of people who are willing to support you, learn from you and deliver their very best.
What you'll be doing
You'll have strong leadership skills, being responsible for clear direction of facilities and business services.

You'll be hands on in this role, monitoring compliance, orchestrating works, and delivering on projects. You'll have the satisfaction of helping look after historic buildings and structures, whilst overseeing all aspects of facilities management and business services to ensure we're safe and compliant.

You'll also work closely with other departments to ensure a quality experience for supporters and contribute to wider strategy and long-term planning for our future.

Some weekend and bank holiday working maybe required.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone imaginative, collaborative and who loves to share ideas, as well as having the following experience:
  • A strong understanding of the core principles and functions of facilities management and buildings maintenance
  • Previous experience of broad compliance and risk management, including knowledge of Health & Safety, Emergency procedures and Fire & Security procedures
  • Experience of working with contractors and a facilities team to get the best value for the portfolio and the National Trust
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, service, and people skills
  • Experience of managing budgets and delivering or managing projects
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
