Empowering Learning are supporting a secondary school, based in Bedfordshire and currently rated as 'Good' by Ofsted. They are seeking to appoint a Director of SEND from September 2022 from September 2022 on a permanent basis.
This opportunity has become available due to the promotion of the predecessor in the role. As the new Director of SEND, you will have obtained the NASENCo award or are working toward completion, or happy to obtain this award. You will lead the development of the fast-growing SEND team, with a sharp focus on preparation for Ofsted. You will also focus on improving the knowledge and skills of all teaching staff in regard to SEND, alongside providing leadership within the school, overseeing all aspects of inclusion and SEND provision.
Determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision across the school
Responsible for daily operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability
Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
Identify resources needed to meet the needs of pupils with SEN and advise the Headteacher when required
Develop and maintain contact with all specialist support services
Present and provide information to SLT for SENDClosing date for CV applications: Thursday 19th May 2022
Salary: £49,000 - £51,500 (Dependent on experience)
