The Finance Manager is responsible for development and execution of the local finance strategy, support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization in close cooperation with the MD and leadership team, specifically in the areas of local management reporting, analysis (profitability enhancement, deviations, working capital improvement, etc) and support.

The Finance Manager is a key member of the UK Management Team and is expected to play an active role in the team, initiate improvements based on financial analysis and keep the team informed by sound and relevant financial reporting.

Daily tasks and responsibilities
  • Cooperate closely with Managing Director and supports them in drafting, developing and implementing a strategy for the UK
  • Responsible for Finance (directly for accounting, salary payment, controlling areas), Customer Service and HR functions
  • In depth understanding and liaison with the two department leads, secure priorities, developments, budgets
  • Works closely with other departments, allowing a proper information flow and contributes to the smooth running of the business
  • Lead the Finance, HR and Customer Service department
  • Local management reporting and support (incl. recommendations), continuously on top of the financial development + input to bi-monthly Townhall meetings
  • Strategy driven KPI's - development, analysis and improvement
  • Development of the finance processes - including automation and controls

Group level activities:
  • Complete month end reporting for the Group
  • Secure that Group reporting and Local finance regulations and reporting (incl. tax, annual report, etc.) is delivered on time and to the right quality.
  • Being team member of relevant global functional teams

Local level operations:
  • Accurate and timely reporting to meet Regulatory and management deadlines
  • Running payroll system
  • Takes responsibility for the credit control, chasing outstanding payments, liaising with debt recovery as required
  • Weekly bank reconciliations
  • Manages the petty cash for both sites
  • Processes monthly expenses
  • Responsibility for the day-to-day financial transactions in the business
  • Specific responsibility for all aspects of cash management
  • Sales/pricing support on selected key accounts
  • Planning (forecasting, budgeting)

Skills / Qualifications

Key capabilities / Competencies

• Previous experience in a similar role - combining a solid expertise within accounting and reporting areas with a sound commercial understanding

• Can contribute to business and KPI's development

• Strong numerical skills to drive our organizations financial operations and improve financial performance

• Ability to deep dive into financial details and not afraid of getting operational

• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability of acting as finance business partner to spar, consult and discuss business directions and decisions

• Good knowledge of processing transactions within the sales and purchase ledger. Full understanding of the principles of double entry book keeping

• A broad knowledge of and familiarity with computer based integrated IT systems, basic understanding of Exchequer

• Professional Accounting qualification

• Thorough knowledge and experience with ERP systems. Can act in the detail and in parallel keep the overview and develop the big picture

• Analytical, logical and detailed working touch and excellent prioritizing skills

• Solid communication skills and decision-making capabilities based on analytical skills and critical thought processes. Ability to translate standard finance information both actions and easy to understand information

Expected experience

• Min. 2 years as finance leader

• Several years of experience in controlling and accounting within an international, corporate environment
