Overview

Newton Investment Management is one of BNY Mellon Investment Management's specialists, and they are a global investment house with expertise in a range of disciplines, including global, regional and emerging-market equities, multi-asset strategies, absolute return investing and global bonds. Materially contribute to developing Newton's institutional business in the UK by cross-selling Newton's strategies to existing and prospective clients. This role also involves retention and servicing of existing clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilising the best of Newton's global investment capabilities to initiate and develop strategic relationships leading to asset growth. By leveraging our systematic, sustainable, and fundamental investment teams to meet specific client needs.
  • Be responsible for driving opportunities to completion, and take ownership for delivery of new investment solutions to clients, by working with key departments such as product development, marketing and sales
  • Act as the voice of the client to inform product development, marketing, and sales activity. Ensure other key stakeholders such as investment and the Exec leadership team are aware of trends, opportunities, and competitor positioning.
  • Operate as a global spokesperson raising the profile of Newton's capabilities. Speaking at conferences and leveraging media opportunities. Contributing to thought leadership, webinars and all profile-raising activity.
  • Owning and monitoring medium-term business plans, including short-term annual targets, with appropriate governance and oversight.
  • Providing competitor insight, including informing pricing strategy.
  • Raising the profile of Newton's expertise and leadership in sustainable investment, both within solutions and multi-asset more broadly.
  • Responsible for sales training to ensure Newton and BNY sales are confident and equipped to promote the multi-asset capabilities.
  • Leverage expertise across BNY in areas such as Fintech and Passive to enhance the take to market proposition.

Skills and knowledge
  • Possess a good understanding of the changing dynamics of the UK Institutional marketplace and needs and required solutions of relevant investors, both current and future.
  • Good network and contacts amongst key investors as well as their advisers.
  • Educated to University level and ideally hold an investment qualification as a minimum.
  • Good working understanding of all asset classes and across a range of investment strategies.
  • Appropriate level of written and oral communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative team player, have the ability to use own initiative, and to influence and persuade at a high level both internally and externally.
  • Results-focused and have the potential to successfully deliver in this role, possessing strong communication and relationship building skills with a view to career development
  • Have a service-orientated mind-set with the enthusiasm, drive and ability to develop significant sales across a growing range of products.
