The Global Solutions Designer - End User Computing is ultimately responsible for the design, development and delivery of centralised technology solutions that offer tangible productivity gains, resulting in business benefits. They will have a strategic focus on the underlying technology platforms, ensuring that business critical environments, services and capabilities are delivered in accordance with expectations and requirements. They are also responsible for applying standard solution development and engineering principles to facilitate corporate growth and development.

The role blends architecture, delivery and leadership, with responsibility for a small team of engineers. Whilst you will be assigned an office location, this position will be predominantly based from home with travel if needed.

The Role
  • Evaluation of industry trends and technology developments in the End User Compute and Application and Desktop virtualization space.
  • Assess suitability and viability for effective deployment.
  • Recommend and arbitrate between technical choices that best serve the Firm's needs and adhere to IT's guiding principles.
  • Engage Development Director for viable technology options.
  • Generate quantifiable business cases for technology development.
  • Review existing products and solutions to ensure that they adhere to architecture and security standards and are in the best interest of the Firm.
  • Develop technology roadmaps in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Develop service improvement programme with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Support ongoing business development through the implementation of optimized EUC solutions.
  • Design automation and a self-service wherever possible into End User Compute services.
  • Develop End User Compute Engineering teams with regular training.
  • Ensure services transitioned into operations have effective and efficient documentation and are readily accepted into operations.
  • Maintain Information Security focus through risk mitigation and data loss prevention practices.

The Requirements
  • Extensive exposure to End User Compute technologies including, but not limited to:
    • Microsoft MECM / Intune
    • Application & Desktop Virtualization technologies (Citrix, AVD, VMWare)
    • MDM / MAM
  • Previous experience with implementing and managing large enterprise End User Computer services.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into sustainable and effective solutions and services.
  • Propagate a culture of excellence, openness, communication and support.
  • Demonstrate technology architecture, engineering and low level support team leadership.
  • Demonstrate technology development and engineering expertise.
  • Ability to assist in the ongoing development and implementation of solutions that are appropriate for the WTW environment.
  • Able to evaluate capabilities for greater solution flexibility and service automation to enhance business operations.
  • Assist with business engagement to proactively develop and enhance the solutions and services portfolio.
  • Ensure services transitioned into operations have effective and efficient documentation and are readily accepted into operations.
  • Provide consultancy and solution development support for key business stakeholders.
  • Develop technologies and solutions to facilitate continued service improvement.
  • Apply technology awareness and associated management skills to guide team resources to achieve their full potential.
  • Ensure talent, creativity, and opportunities for innovation are recognized and developed appropriately.
