We have roles available in the UK across a number of locations including Telford, Southend, Worthing, Holborn, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle. Capgemini supports flexible and home working, but we are looking for people who are able to travel to client sites, are flexible in terms of assignment location and are prepared to stay away from home if required.
An overview of the role
The Cloud and Digital Architect has a key role in defining and delivering Digital Government and Cloud Migration. You should thrive on variety and enjoy working across the full lifecycle of a project. Examples include helping to define the client's roadmap, creating a vision for a service, working closely with agile teams, creating automated continuous delivery pipelines and working with DevOps teams to understand and improve the service in production. We want passionate, energetic technologists who can create solutions, work with clients, lead development teams and help with winning new work.
The work
You will work closely with the platform engineers and developers, owning the technical solution, getting your hands dirty where required and ensuring that the team use the most up to date tools and techniques to deliver excellent digital services and cloud migrations for UK government departments.
Why this role?
As a Capgemini Architect you will be assigned to the Capgemini HMRC Market Unit working across a number of major Public Sector clients. You will be primarily working with Cloud and Digital technologies such as micro-services, containers, cloud migration, infrastructure as code and CI/CD. The team generally have an engineering background combined with customer facing skills, commercial acumen, proven technology experience and a project delivery track record. You will get to work with a set of technologies and ways of working that are starting to define the industry supported by an excellent platform engineering team, who are at the forefront of this technology.
Why you?
• Experience of client facing roles
• Practical experience of delivering in a cloud-based environment
• Experience of DevOps tooling and their place in a solution (Jenkins, Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes etc.)
• Strong software engineering/development/cloud background
• Recent experience of delivering web-based services, RESTful APIs , complex integrations or cloud migrations
• Experience of modern software architectures such as micro-services
• Experience in delivering using Agile
• Experience and passion for leading teams of software engineers and platform engineers.
Additional skills also of interest:
• NoSQL databases - differences, selection criteria, delivery experience
• Development frameworks such as Play!, Dropwizard, angular.js, node.js.
