The organisation:

We are working with a wonderful Health Charity who help provide information and support to people living with life changing conditions. You will join their team as an Interim Media & PR Officer for an initial 2-month contract with the potential to become permanent.

Key responsibilities:

Identify and create media opportunities to deliver positive coverage which helps raise condition awareness and understanding
Co-create and deliver creative communications plans around the charity's fundraising initiatives, key individual supporters and celebrities/VIPs
Monitor, evaluate and report on personal coverage as well as leading on reporting of overall fundraising campaigns
Provide expert advice for regional fundraising and events colleagues to maximise PR outputs
Establish and maintain a network of case studies, willing to share their experiences with the media
Develop and maintain good working relationships with both colleagues and journalist contacts
Assist with the media briefing and training of organisational spokespeople
Support on research and policy stories, gaining a wider understanding of the organisation's work
Contribute to the smooth daily running of the press office, including participating in the out of hours and reactive rota

Person specification:

Experience of working on successful media campaigns and generating coverage
Strong understanding of working with case studies and an awareness of the associated GDPR requirements
Ability to identify and create newsworthy stories
Excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills
Ability to prioritise own workload effectively, meeting both your own deadlines as well as those of journalists and colleagues
Good working knowledge of national and local media
Willingness to engage with wider portfolio of media projects including research and policy stories

What's on offer:

This role is offering a day rate of £120 - £130 per day PAYE for this initial 2 month contract. This role will be hybrid with 2 days per week in their office in London, starting ASAP.
