Purpose of the Role
Springer Nature is driving for further harmonization and standardization across business divisions and regions. This role should drive this for strategic and operational Management Reporting for the entire group with the following

Key activities:
  • Preparation of standard management reports as input for Group Performance Reporting & Analysis and Business Partners and aligned with business requirements
  • Delivery of accurate (consolidated) management data (financial and non-financial)
  • Ensure consistent reporting across the business across P+L lines
  • Build a solid reporting platform based on consistent and complete financial and non-financial data
  • Manage demand and supply with business and develop standard reporting across the group
  • Continuous improvement (of processes and standard reports)
Responsibilities
  • Preparation of standard management reports as input for Group Performance Reporting & Analysis and Business Partners and aligned with business requirements
  • Delivery of accurate (consolidated) management data (financial and non-financial)
  • Ensure consistent reporting across the business across P+L lines
  • Build a solid reporting platform based on consistent and complete financial and non-financial data.
  • Manage demand and supply with business and develop standard reporting across the group
  • Continuous improvement (of processes and standard reports)
  • BI report creation and maintenance in collaboration with IT
  • Continuous improvement (of processes and standard reports)
  • Drive rationalization, standardization, and automation of reports
  • Developing self-service reporting self-service dashboards
  • Training and support for end-users
  • Maintaining controlling data structures (profit centres, cost centres, and product group structures)
  • Lead a team of ~20 employees

Experience & Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance or related field and/or comparable qualification (e.g. Certified Chartered Accountant or Registered Controller)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams in a complex, changing environment to deliver value-added results to the organization
  • Knowledge of the publishing industry highly preferable
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and influence others
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Springer Nature's operating philosophy, policies and procedures
  • Considerable experience in Controlling
  • Depth and breadth of technical finance knowledge
  • Business case and financial modelling skills
  • Demonstrated ability of SAP finance/controlling system environment as well as of Hyperion Financial Management reporting software
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
