Human Biological Samples (HBS) are fundamental to medical research in the discovery, development and implementation of new treatments and diagnostics. They are ethically sensitive materials and underpin the delivery of every clinical trial.

HBS are used in every clinical study performed by AZ and form the basis of safety, pharmacokinetic and efficacy endpoints that are used in regulatory files to achieve launch, and are essential for AZ's business success.
