AK Teaching are currently recruiting for Learning Support Assistants to provide general classroom and Special Educational Needs (SEN) support for schools in Newcastle. With plenty of primary and SEN schools requiring support on a daily basis, we are on the lookout for flexible Learning Support Assistants who can work day-to-day or on a part-time basis.

Our schools will provide a warm and supportive environment where you will be able to build upon your own personal and professional development in comfort.

The role of a Learning Support Assistant includes:

· Working collaboratively with the SENDCo and other members of staff;

· Working on a one to one basis with a student or with a small group of students, identified by the class Teacher;

· On occasions, you may accompany a student to an offsite learning centre;

· You will be responsible for making learning as accessible as possible for the students that you work with and therefore it is essential that you show empathy and patience, whilst ensuring they are as engaged as possible;

To be considered for this Learning Support Assistant role you must:

· Have experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or experience in a similar setting

· Have a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years Education, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning.

· Have the legal right to work in the UK.
