Role: Pricing Manager - Projects (energy / utilities)

Location: Redhill

Salary: £40,000pa to £45,000pa + up to 20% bonus / pension + much, much more!


The Pricing manage will be responsible for identifying and managing efficiency projects within the Power pricing team including projects to implement industry changes and those to support business development objectives. The role will focus on developing and optimising the existing pricing processes, working closely with other departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency with the paramount objective of improving the customer experience. Key responsibilities:
  • Gather in-depth knowledge of the company?s power pricing engine
  • Identify system efficiencies relating to pricing processes, prepare Change Requests and UAT is completed before implementation
  • Diagnose root-causes to queries and work to define and implement long term solutions
  • Identify & implement improvements to operational processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Work in an incremental manner with users to develop user-friendly processes
  • Coach and train operational users to take full ownership of new processes once developed
  • End to end management of commercial and industry-compliance projects to ensure delivery
  • Transition projects to BAU processes when required within the pricing teams
  • Partner with Risk, Sales Opss & Servicing to maintain accurate pricing and billing, optimise internal processes and query resolutions
  • Organise regular Q&A sessions and create a shared FAQ library to improve understanding and knowledge relating to pricing matters to provide better customer service
  • Assist Pricing team to develop strong commercial awareness of industry pricing regulations
  • Coach the pricing team to develop analytical skills and technical skills in Excel and PL SQL

Skills and experience required:
  • 5+ year in data analytical roles, preferably within the electricity/gas supply industry
  • Highly proficient in the use of SQL and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Expert in data analysis and reporting
  • Strong problem solving and root-cause analytical skills
  • Previous team management experience
  • Degree in a numerate/analytical discipline e.g., Maths, Economics, Computer Science etc.
