Job Description

UKAEA have opportunities for highly motivated, innovative and collaborative L&D Partners to join our expanding People team. We are on a journey to deliver a strategic people-led function that offers a broad and integrated portfolio of activities that support UKAEA in achieving its goals and objectives.

This position would suit somebody who enjoys developing and delivering learning modules across a range of topics such as Leadership and Management, Coaching and Mentoring and is experienced in group facilitation. This is an exciting time to join our Department on a full-time or part-time basis (ideally 3 to 4 days per week).

Who are we looking for?

As a L&D Partner you will have a good understanding of HR processes with deep specialist knowledge and experience of designing and delivering learning programmes via the use of technology platforms which have been created through the use of an authoring tool. To succeed in this role, you will have excellent team management and people skills and good interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge robustly.

What will you be responsible for?

-Provide professional training and development expertise and lead on designing, implementing and delivering learning and development programmes across UKAEA.

-Lead on the development of UKAEA curriculum ensuring that these support the successful achievement of corporate activities, are engaging, high quality and intellectually challenging.

-Be responsible for designing both face to face and technology-led learning, ensuring these are accessible and all UKAEA employees are able to fully participate.

-Work with the People BP to identify competence and skills gaps, both technical and managerial, and provide solutions for bridging them to grow capability and support a changing organisation.

-Build frameworks for key learning and development activities such as coaching and evaluation.

-Respond to requests for facilitation and bespoke learning interventions and team events.

Note: This role will be predominantly working on the Culham site but may involve travel to other sites. We are open to discussing flexible working patterns. As you will be self-directed, you will manage your own diary so that you maintain a balance between being on site and working from home.


Essential experience and competence required

-Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience

-A relative learning and development qualification such as coaching, psychometric accreditation, CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience

-Extensive experience of devising and delivering learning and development programmes to develop the capability of complex organisations, meeting time, quality and cost requirements.

-Expert in using the most appropriate learning methodology for the maximum learning impact and able to use a range of software to support the design and delivery of learning.

-Understanding and appreciation of the importance of inclusion in learning

- Has a wide portfolio of experience in design and delivery of learning activities, working in L&D function.

Desirable skills, experience and competence

- Coaching qualification

- Mediation qualification

- Experienced facilitator and qualified in diagnostic psychometric tools such as Insights Discovery or OPQ
