Role description:

Our Landscape. Masterplanning. Urbanism. (LMU) team are looking for a Landscape Architect to come join our growing team, which consists of 70+ people offering the full spectrum of Landscape Architecture, Masterplanning and Urban Design services. The services range from Masterplanning, urban regeneration, strategic planning, design concept through to detail and implementation as well as Environmental Assessment and LVIA/TVIA.

As part of our team you will have a strong focus on LVIA/TVIA projects.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including our in-house disciplines and high-profile designers as well as our sector leading external partners. You'll have the opportunity to work on some of the UK's largest, most complex and technically demanding projects. These currently include major large-scale Masterplans, City Centre public realm Regeneration projects, Green Infrastructure strategies and Landscape Masterplanning for some of the UK's largest residential and mixed-use developments as well as significant infrastructure projects such as:
  • Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) such as Lower Thames Crossing.
  • Deeside Parkway Landscape Appraisal
  • M4 Smart Motorway DCO and NMCA
  • Kensal Canalside LVIA
  • Cambridge South Rail LVIA
  • Otterpool Park Garden Settlement LVIA
  • Rochdale Canal and various other Projects (Canal and River Trust)
  • Oxford Street
  • High Speed Rail 2

However, not all of our projects are large scale. We have equally exciting smaller projects and, together, present a rich and varied portfolio of projects and clients including at national and local levels, and in both the private and public sector.

Role accountabilities:

  • Degree/Diploma in Landscape Architecture or closely related subject.
  • Chartered membership with Landscape Institute or equivalent
  • Technical support of projects with a strong focus on LVIA/TVIA projects, shaping and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.
  • Experienced Landscape Architect with relevant LVIA experience including transport, and energy infrastructure projects including Wind Energy Schemes.
  • Experience in delivering major infrastructure projects
  • Ability to lead by example working on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, ideally within a consultancy environment
  • Preferrable, experience with DCO applications including the examination process. Expert witness experience would be advantageous.
  • Highly capable and crafted experience in successful high-quality report writing
  • ability to manage with proactive dialogue encompassing staff wellbeing and personal development. Understanding of staff professional development needs and career pathway
  • Proficient AutoCAD and experienced Adobe Suite user, BIM, PW etc


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree/Diploma in Landscape Architecture or closely related subject.
  • Chartered membership with Landscape Institute or equivalent
  • A strong focus on LVIA/TVIA projects
