We are looking to recruit a career minded Assistant MEP Cost Consultant to support the Financial Institutions (Retail and Workspace)
team in our busy London office. The team focus mainly on-going design & build projects within the financial institutions and retail sectors in Central London & surrounding areas. Projects will be within predominately commercial office refurbishment, plant replacement but also include some data centre works.
You shall be part of a delivery for projects with reasonable complexity from £1m + in value working as part of a team. Work within established procedures to undertake tasks relating to the cost control of projects, review financial information in order to identify any anomalies or discrepancies to ensure management has access to up-to-date and accurate information.
Individually contribute to a range of professional cost management assignments and monitor and review work undertaken by more junior colleagues, in order to ensure programmes of work are undertaken and project milestones are met.
Interpret data and prepare supporting documentation such as schedules, feasibility studies and cost reports, making straightforward recommendations to support senior colleagues in their decision-making process.
Take a proactive role in assessing and evaluating cost and commercial management processes, sharing knowledge, identifying opportunities, and providing advice to help improve processes and systems.
Apply technical methods and expertise to complete complex, professional level tasks as requested by colleagues, prioritising case load and interpreting established policies in order to effectively support the cost and commercial management function.
Provide specialist advice and support on cost management queries to clients, designers and colleagues ensuring an efficient and high-quality provision of information to all internal and external stakeholders.
Assist senior staff to resolve stakeholder issues by flagging issues as soon as they are encountered and suggesting appropriate solutions in order to contribute to client care to ensure ongoing client satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent recognised by the RICS or working towards this qualification preferred but not desirable.
- Technical expertise to read MEP drawings and challenge design.
- Experience of successfully delivering on complex programmes / projects.
- Relevant experience in mid- to major office refurbishments and developments in the London market.
- Working independently and being able to take ownership of aspects of a project.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to take part in negotiations with external stakeholders and suppliers.
- Ability to present directly to senior members of client organisations.
- A logical approach and ability to think through complex issues to co-ordinate multi-faceted aspects of projects.
