As a Senior Software Developer in Test, you'll work against a predefined test strategy for your product and make a significant contribution towards scripting tests using a modern and innovative automation framework. Your natural problem-solving skills, inquisitive mind and attention to detail will contribute towards a strong culture of quality across the organization and have a significant impact on the service we provide.
About the team - Merchant Experience Merchant Experience is Checkout.com's product team which interacts with Merchants to onboard them, show how their payments are performing, see what they need to take action on, deal with problems, see reports, and change settings.

About the team - Merchant Experience Merchant Experience is Checkout.com's product team which interacts with Merchants to onboard them, show how their payments are performing, see what they need to take action on, deal with problems, see reports, and change settings.
About You:
- Proven experience in a test driven development role
- At a minimum, you have achieved your foundation ISTQB/ISEB tester certificate
- Good experience working within a fast-paced Agile team
- Growth mindset mentality and excellent attention to detail, fault finding, debugging and diagnostic skills
- Able to switch between manual and automated testing with ease, and with the attitude of both subject areas having equal importance.
- Confident collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
What you'll be doing:
- Analyse complex business requirements and consistently provide constructive feedback
- Proactively engage with all partners to close gaps in requirements
- Consistently perform exploratory tests in planning phase
- Make an active contribution to all Agile rituals (standups, retros, planning, etc)
- Author test plans and record test cases using Gherkin syntax
- Author new and update existing automated acceptance tests using Javascript
- Build user documentation and processes
- Collaborate with developers to investigate production issues
- Collaborate with product owners to groom the backlog of bugs according to business risk priority
- Track quality metrics and generate reports for partners
- Build advocacy towards the wider QA community to facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Experience in writing brief gherkin scenarios which clearly define the purpose of each test
- Experience in writing API automation tests in any language, ideally JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experience in writing automation Web GUI tests using any framework, ideally Cypress
- Experience using clients like POSTMAN and Swagger
- Experience working with cloud services, ideally AWS
- Excellent debugging ability
- Confident understanding of the Testing Pyramid and its implementation
- Experience using continuous integration (CI/CD) tools like TeamCity and Octopus
- Familiar with different authentication types.e.g basic and bearer
- Comfortable with JSON data
