What we need
Audit and accountancy experience - ACA/ACCA or equivalent!
Assists in the planning, execution and finalisation of all areas of the audit assignment, including statutory and CASS audits, for manager or partner review, seeking input for areas of concern and judgement.
Identifies risk matters and raises with a manager and/or partner, while exercising judgement within agreed parameters.
Active engagement with senior client staff in order to gain a good understanding of their business and ensure the efficient execution of the audit
Take primary responsibility for monitoring progress against budget, and when the actual differs from the budget then gain a full understanding for the Manager.
Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements
Supervise, coach and develop junior members of staff within teams, on client premises and in the office.
What you'll do
Preparation of Statutory Financial Statements with supporting schedules for small and medium-sized businesses for external purposes for a variety of businesses in line with appropriate regulations and accounting standards in accordance with FRS102, FRS105, IFRS, UK GAAP
Preparation of CT600 Companies tax returns, VAT returns based on current legislation and liaising with HMRC on behalf of the clients
Balance Sheet reconciliation on a monthly basis
Processing Journals and finalising Accounts.
Reviewing accounts and tax returns prepared by junior staff
Liaising with the companies' external auditors
Advising clients on companies' structures, Companies House and HMRC filing requirements and tax issues
Sharing of technical knowledge and experience with colleagues and foster a supportive environment
Who you are
ACA/ACCA or any other relevant professional qualification
Accounting experience within a UK Accountancy Practice
Strong Working knowledge of tax and technical accounting standards under FRS102, FRS105, IFRS, UK GAAP
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Fluent English
Excellent communication and organisation skills
