Protocol is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Student Experience Officer in the Brighton area. In this role, you will provide a friendly, professional and customer orientated frontline service to students' experience in line with regulation and college procedures and policies; with excellent care and support to develop skills for the next stage of their lives at University or the world beyond. You will deliver the highest standards of supervision, safeguarding, security, support, efficiency and customer care for all students throughout their learning journey
30 hours per week including weekends. Shift pattern 8am - 6pm Saturday and Sunday plus 1 weekday.
You will need an Enhanced DBS Ideally on the update service
Salary: £7.00 - £9.00
The person & qualifications
*Experience and/or qualifications working with young people (Essential).
*Educated to 'A' level or equivalent (Essential).
*Experience of working within an Education or Care environment (Essential).
*Experience of working within a FE Residential environment (Desirable).
*First Aid Certificate (Desirable).
*Provide a friendly, professional and customer orientated service to students' experience in line with regulation and college procedures and policies
*Deliver the highest standards of supervision, safeguarding, security, support, efficiency, and customer care for all students throughout their learning journey.
*The role may include a variety of shifts as agreed on the rotation by the line manager.
*Reception and welcome services (e.g., post, incoming calls, visitors, wayfinding, passes) Checking in to residencies and support with requirements in residences ID card production and access, using the student management information system "Study Global "& "Progresso"
*Supporting and developing the induction experience for all students and completing the registration processes to ensure students are correctly and fully recorded on college systems.
*Deliver services and support in the residencies & host families (e.g., daytime cover, student care and pastoral support, patrols of residencies, Health & Safety, maintenance reporting, Safeguarding, First Aid and Fire Marshall duties, Host family liaison and occasional visits when cover is needed, advice for private renters and be trained to cover evening/night-time shifts in an emergency)
*Checking attendance on-site
*To compile and send handover reports at the end of each shift
*Support feedback mechanisms to measure and improve the student satisfaction levels of their student journey during their time here
*To assist fully with the responsibility for the happiness, well-being, health, safety and pastoral care of the students in college
*To administer and supervise prescribed medications and homely remedies following training
*To be responsible for health and wellbeing issues in the House in liaison with the Welfare Team.
*To participate fully in extra-curricular activities, and to help organise them as required, including any relevant administration (risk assessments) promotion and facilitation of these on and off-site
*Working as part of a team with the wider College staff to promote the well-being of students and prevent anti-social behaviour; may require liaison with other departments to help resolve student issues
*To play an active role in building and maintaining positive and constructive relationships with students, in order to provide them with support.
