Delighted to be supporting this local Durham accounting firm as they look to appoint an Audit & Accounts Senior.

The position is suited to an experienced Senior who is confident with the completion of preparing accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders as well as audit of financial statements and other returns.

You will be exposed to a wide ranging selection of clients which will include those from the manufacturing, retail, charity, education, and legal sectors. As such your role will see you attending clients sites from time to time, all locally based across County Durham, but a car will be required to give you the independence to manage your diary.

Your role will provide plenty of variety and you will find your time nicely split between preparing accounts on clients systems (such as Xero and Sage) and auditing financial statements from planning to completion. This will include the responsibility for managing an on-site audit team at times. You will also be responsible for corporate tax computations and actioning any queries raised by Managers on the draft accounts and tax computations through to finalisation following client meetings.

This position requires daily liaison with a number of different professionals, both internal and external. For that reason we are looking to appoint a confident and organised individual with strong communication skills.

The successful applicant will be qualified or part-qualified (ACA/ACCA) with relevant experience of working with owner-managed businesses within the profession. You must possess both accounts and audit experience with a desire to continue working in both areas of specialism.

Having worked in practice you will appreciate the value held in delivering excellent client service and the ability to work to tight deadlines. You will also be familiar in the use of cloud based software such as Xero, Quickbooks or similar.
