Our client, a US owned, publicly listed global leader in the communications sector, has developed the need for an Interim Financial Controller to cover a secondment. This is an immediate need, with the contract currently being offered for a 3-4 month period.

This role will offer a great deal of flexibility including hybrid working, with the Interim visiting either their Manchester of Macclesfield offices 2 days per week. Please note: this role is NOT being offered on a fully remote basis.

This will be offered at the £70,000 - £80,000 mark, or £350- £400 per day.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the timely completion of accounting activities of the company
Prepare monthly management accounts using Oracle keeping to within strict deadlines
Responsible for submissions to Group using Cognos
Answering queries and providing commentaries to Group relating to all submissions as requested
Preparation of Statutory Accounts using Caseware
Managing a team of six covering all aspects of the financial process
Coordinating with the project accountants and collating information received for inclusion in the management accounts
Review of accounts and submission into Cognos with provision of advice to the accountant as required
Monthly VAT return submission and completion
Review and submission of PSA, payment practices reporting and other reporting requirements as necessary
Administration of Bankline and bank related activities
Intercompany recharging and confirmations between companies
Manage, monitor and the execute specific internal controls within accounting processes and other general accounting activities
Provision of information to the Group Tax department to enable completion of the Corporation Tax Return
Timely provision of information required by external auditors, internal auditors and business review.
Testing on quarterly updates to Oracle
Provide assistance and advice on queries arising from anywhere in the business.
Perform other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:

Fully Qualified Accountant
Experience with Oracle and Cognos preferred
Experience with all aspects of the financials
Knowledge of IFRS and experience with controls
Motivated individual who works well with others and thinks clearly under pressure
Exceptional ability to problem-solve individually or in a group setting
Ability to shift priorities quickly, while maintaining organization and control
Experience overseeing performance of team members
Excellent verbal, written and people skills
