Teaching Personnel are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant for a SEN School in Colchester. This role will include working with children with Autism. Your role will be assisting teachers with maintaining class behaviour and keeping up the performance standards of the classroom.

We are looking for an individual who is able to support children with challenging behaviours and remain adaptable to any situation due to the nature of the roles and responsibilities of the role and how varied they can be.

You do not need any formal Teaching Assistant qualifications to apply for this role. However, if you do have a Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare/Supporting Teaching and Learning or suitable experience. Such as; care worker, support worker, social worker - our partner schools need you!

The role would include:

Supporting the pupil throughout the school day
Assisting the pupil with the work set out by the teacher
Behaviour/learning support
Upholding the values of the school at all times
Aiding with the set up and set down of the classroom
Maintaining high levels of health and safety over the pupils
Aiding the teacher with the day to day running of the class
The ideal candidate would have:

Experience working in a Teaching Assistant role OR Social/support work
Experience working with SEN pupils
Manual handling training
DBS on the Update service (we can help with this)
A hard working and positive attitude to all aspects of work
Monthly salary from: £1,326-£1,560

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
